Andreas Reiter Raabe is an artist, curator, gallery owner, collector and interviewer. His approach to art is conceptual; he treats the subject of painting with a thorough knowledge of art history and a constant questioning of method and content. The works entitled Attachement have been created in various small formats since 1998. The title is deceptive, as these are not extensions, but primary objects: Andreas Reiter Raabe pours four colors (in earlier works, also synthetic resin) over the canvas in four directions. The paint drips from the work on the table onto a large canvas below. As a result, this too becomes a trace painting on its own. Thus, the Attachements represent the beginning of an artistic conceptual process. At their edges, one sees fine drops that reveal their horizontal creation process.
