With regard to Rosa Rendl's wallpaper design the most defining concepts are seriality, mass production and the world of commodities. The starting point is a lamp from the Lower Austrian home of the artist's grandparents. The lamp’s design is simple, but memorable. It emanates a certain heft and sobriety. Design fans may associate it with the northern Italian product world of the 1980s. To be precise, it comes from the Milan company Bilumen, model Diesis. Rosa Rendl takes analog photographs and produces these photos, specially framed, usually as unique pieces, or in small batches. The photo Bilumen Diesis is also available as a unique piece in a larger format, thus contrasting with the industrial origin of its subject. Even when an atmospheric fade-out is created by the background, in this series, the lights again adapt to the sober office building. Where so much should conform to norms, there needs to be special attention to nuances.
