In 2025, Hristina Ivanoska was entrusted with the design of the EVN holiday greeting card. The motif she has provided is an overlaying of eight cut-out drawings of letterforms—which together make up the title, BLOSSOMS—from her own nonbinary typography (Archetype Open Form, 2017). The artist speaks to the mythical creation of identity, merging the ethereal with mechanical concepts, most importantly the technique of the cutout— key to her artistic practice—which refers to craftsmanship and conceptual thinking of how we open and close the space of continual narratives. Hristina Ivanoska’s original typography is not just for linguistic communication but unfolds an aesthetic terrain through which identity and diversity become visible. Typography is not viewed as a neutral form but as a culturally coded medium to be deconstructed and reimagined. As the year draws to a close, the work invites us to focus on fundamental forms. Its delicate structures stand for qualities like mindfulness and concentration. In a time shaped by change and complexity, we are reminded that strength lies in togetherness and connection.
