The EVN AG’s calendar for 2024 was conceived by Gerwald Rockenschaub. Born 1952 in Linz and based in Berlin since 1999, the artist focused on color areas, contrasts, letters, and numbers. Through such abstraction, the “radical minimalist,” as the Vienna Belvedere 21 museum characterized him on the occasion of his most recent solo exhibition, zeroed in on the bare essentials of what makes a calendar table. The conceptual approach, the use of cutting-edge technologies, and the incorporation of perception and contemplation even in architectural structures are defining features of the art of Gerwald Rockenschaub.
