The book situates itself between fiction and documentation, and between trash and the grotesque. It merges cinema, photography, and literature, and is inspired by Markus Krottendorfer’s analog photo series of EVN power plants from 2021/22, which appear like dystopias. These images inspired Scott Clifford Evans to develop a horror film concept titled “The Eyes of Ra.” The story is set in a dying small town, where an old power plant comes to life and reveals terrifying secrets — including tentacled creatures, ghostly machines, and portals to other dimensions.
