About the collection
The evn collection was founded in 1995 and is EVN AG’s company collection of international, contemporary art.
The works of the collection are compiled by a team of experts and are seen as an intellectual and material investment in the future of the company.
The evn collection is a platform for exploring visual arts and is intended for the company’s staff and interested visitors alike.
The exhibition of works at the company’s premises in Maria Enzersdorf, 15 kilometres south of Vienna, permits a direct dialogue with current and critical positions at this location.
The collection is focused on a brief historical period (works from the late nineteen-eighties until today). A typical feature of the collection is the variety of media and the aim of presenting contemporary positions.

Lives and works in Vienna. Art historian, curator, art critic, Brigitte Huck studied art history and archeology. Worked for the department of drawings, Museum of Modern Art, New York; Curator at the MAK, Vienna; specialist at the Dorotheum, Vienna. Since 1993 freelance curator. Numerous exhibition projects, amongst others for the bienal de São Paulo, Brazil; museum in progess, Vienna; Public Art Lower Austria, KÖR, Vienna; kunstzürich; Sigmund Freud Museum, Vienna; Bawag Foundation/Contemporary, Vienna. Curator of the Bawag Kunstbuch Edition; author and art critic (ARTFORUM, springerin). Corresponding member of the Secession, Vienna.

Born in Bruck a. d. Mur, Austria in 1968; lives in Vienna, Austria
Studied art history at the University of Graz and communication and management at the Danube University Krems; 1994–2001 worked for the library and collection of the Neue Galerie am Landesmuseum Joanneum in Graz; 1992–1994 assistant at the Grazer Kunstverein.
Main fields of interest: communication and education programs for contemporary art, corporate collections, Modernism, and medieval art; author of various articles on contemporary art.

Born in 1968 in Zurich, CH, Artistic Director of the Serpentine Galleries in London. Prior to this, Hans Ulrich Obrist was the Curator of the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris. Since his first show “World Soup” (The Kitchen Show) in 1991 he has curated more than 300 shows.
In 2011 Obrist received the CCS Bard Award for Curatorial Excellence, in 2015 he was awarded the International Folkwang Prize, and in 2018 he was presented with the Award for Excellence in the Arts by the Appraisers Association of America. Obrist has lectured internationally at academic and art institutions, and is contributing editor to several magazines and journals.
His recent publications include Ways of Curating (2015), The Age of Earthquakes (2015), Lives of the Artists, Lives of Architects (2015), Mondialité (2017), Somewhere Totally Else (2018) and The Athens Dialogues (2018).

Born in Salzburg, Austria in 1973; lives in Vienna, Austria, and New York, USA
Studied at the University for Arts and Industrial Design in Linz, Austria, and the Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany. Schinwald works in a variety of media: painting, sculpture, performance, installation and film. His works are found in numerous international collections, including: Tate Modern (London), MOMA (San Francisco), MUMOK (Vienna), Musée d’art moderne de la Ville de Paris (Paris).

Since 2015 Director of Kunsthaus Bregenz (KUB); 2013-2015 director of the Kunsthalle Mainz; from 2007–2012 curator for Visual Arts at Siemens Arts Program and Siemens Stiftung, Munich. 2010-2011 Visiting Scholar at ACT, the MIT Program in Art, Culture and Technology, Cambridge, MA; 2006-2007 Hall Curatorial Fellow at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Ridgefield, CT. He previously worked as a curator of modern and contemporary art for the Belvedere Vienna and the Kunstverein Graz.
